VISION
The purpose of "Son"Shine Village Ministries is to train up the next generation of believers to grab on to their faith so they can lead this nation back to Jesus.
MISSION
Teach Children the Bible and to apply Biblical principles to their daily lives. Guide children in the development of their God given gifts, and allow opportunities for them to experience Christian service.
STAFF
We staff our elementary classes every 5 weeks. Our guides and teachers attend both services, teaching at one and being ministered to in the other. "Son"Shine Village Ministries has been blessed with committed teachers and guides. Our classes are growing and more staff is needed. WORKSHOP ROTATION MODEL
The Workshop rotation Model is a fun, kid friendly way of teaching major bible stories and concepts. Our 1st through 4th graders learn in various multimedia workshops: Art, Drama, Cinema, Game, Media and Temple . Each workshop is decorated to fit the theme of the class. We teach the same lesson in all of the workshops for four weeks rotating the children to a different workshop each week. The teachers teach the same workshop for all four weeks adjusting the lessons to fit the grade level of the class. The fifth week is game review week and a kick off to our new rotation lesson.
ROUTE 56
The 5 th and 6 th graders meet separately from the 1 st through 4 th grade. There class is discussion oriented giving them the opportunities to test what they learn at school with Biblical teachings. They are currently discussing an intelligent design versus evolution. They have talked about friendships, feelings, parents and the list goes on. This class gives them an opportunity to discuss things with adults that have been bothering them and looking to the Bible for answers.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR SERVICE
It takes a lot of work to accomplish the task of Christian Education for children and we could use your help. If you have interest in helping in any of the following areas, please contact Candy Porostosky at the church office.
Teachers: Teachers in the "Son" Shine Village are people who impart the Word of God to children, using their spiritual gifts and natural abilities.
Guides: Guides are in fact like home room teachers; they take attendance, assist the teachers in each workshop and ensure discipline of the students. These are the people who become our children’s mentors.
Registration Coordinators: We are currently in need of people to take the responsibility of making sure children are registered for both services.
Classroom maintenance: Come in once a week and make sure the classrooms are picked up and clean. All toys are safe and age appropriate.
